FIGHT SPORTS SECURES RIGHTS TO MANNY PACQUIAO/KEITH THURMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

FIGHT SPORTS has secured Live rights to the biggest Championship Boxing event of the summer, as ring legend and one of the superstars of boxing, Manny Pacquiao, takes on one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, Keith Thurman from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.  The WBA Welterweight World Championship will be on the line.

Pacquiao looks to continue what has been a historic and hall-of-fame worthy career, one which has seen him score victories over Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Adrien Broner, and many others.  He faces one of his toughest challenges to date in undefeated Keith Thurman, who has 29 wins with 22 of those victories coming by knockout.

FIGHT SPORTS has secured exclusive rights in several territories throughout Europe, including Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Greece, and many others.  The following weekend, FIGHT SPORTS also acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the undefeated World Champion Gervonta Davis, as he takes on Ricardo Nunez for the WBA Super Featherweight World Championship.  This event takes place live in the United States on Showtime, June 27th at 9 pm ET.

FIGHT SPORTS LANDS CANELO/ROCKY DECEMBER 15TH

Coming off of the exciting broadcast of the WBC Heavyweight World Championship classic between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, followed by HBO’s farewell boxing broadcast headlined by longtime Female Welterweight World Champion Cecilia Braekhus, FIGHT SPORTS™ ends the year with three more World Championship events.
First, on December 15th, FIGHT SPORTS™ will showcase Canelo Alvarez’s move to the Super Middleweight division as he takes on WBA titleholder Rocky Fielding. Canelo returns to the ring three months after his victory over Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in a match-up of two of boxing’s best pound-for-pound fighters. Through the agreement, FIGHT SPORTS™ will broadcast the event in countries that include Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, and India.
For the following weekend, FIGHT SPORTS™ acquired the rights to two major events from the UK’s top two promoters.
Dillian Whyte will take on Dereck Chisora in a Heavyweight rematch, with the winner well-positioned for a shot at Anthony Joshua’s World Titles.
On the same night, Josh Warrington (27-0) and Carl Frampton (26-1) meet for the IBF Featherweight World Championship in a showdown of two of the top fighters in the division.

FIGHT SPORTS SIGNS CARRIAGE DEAL WITH ORANGE SPAIN

FIGHT SPORTS, the linear sports channel and digital service, has agreed a carriage deal in Spain with telco operator Orange.

FIGHT SPORTS has a similar deal already in place with Orange in France, and the latest agreement continues the channel’s global expansion.

FIGHT SPORTS’ programming line-up includes weekly live premium events including world title boxing matches, as well as championship kickboxing, mixed martial arts, martial arts and exclusive reality, documentary and original programming series.

FIGHT SPORTS, which is owned by CSI Sports, reaches more than 40 countries globally with over 200 carriage agreements having been signed since it launched in 2012.

FIGHT SPORTS PUNCHES ONTO STARHUB IN SINGAPORE

Extending its major distribution in the region and South East Asia, CSI Sports has signed a new carriage agreement with StarHub TV in Singapore which will see transmission of channels principally including its 24/7 HD network Fight Sports.

With boxing and MMA thriving globally, the Fight Sports network now reaches over 40 countries with more than 200+ carriage agreements across Europe, Asia and the Caribbean since launch in 2012. The new StarHub programming line-up will include broadcasting some of boxing’s biggest live world title fights from WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO, Championship kickboxing, K-1, MMA, martial arts and exclusive reality, documentary and original programming series.

Coverage will also feature some of history’s most exciting championship boxing events from the HBO Championship Boxing Series, WCCB and classic fights with legendary boxers such as Manny Pacquiao, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya and George Foreman.

FIGHT SPORTS PICKS UP JOSHUA-PARKER RIGHTS

FIGHT SPORTS, the channel owned by New York-based fight sports production and distribution company CSI Sports, is to show the March 31st fight between boxing heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, after picking up rights to the bout.

FIGHT SPORTS will exclusively air the world title fight, which is taking place in Cardiff on 31 March, in over 30 countries.

In the lead up to the fight, the network will be showcasing exclusive content from both fighters.

The deal was struck between FIGHT SPORTS and promoters Matchroom Boxing and Duco Events.

FIGHT SPORTS becomes the latest broadcaster to acquire rights to the fight following a deal earlier this week for DAZN, the OTT streaming platform owned by digital sports content and media group Perform.

DAZN will exclusively air the fight in Germany, Austria and Canada, while the event will also be streamed non-exclusively on DAZN in Switzerland.

FIGHT SPORTS ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO HEAVYWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN OVER 50 COUNTRIES

FIGHT SPORTS’ New York-based parent company CSI Sports has agreed to a deal to acquire rights to the Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz WBC Heavyweight World Championship Live event, taking place March 3rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The deal covers rights in over 50 countries, including in Japan, Spain, Germany, Belgium, India, Singapore, and throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Wilder, 39-0 with 38 knockouts, looks to defend his title for the 7th time since claiming the belt in a unanimous decision victory over Bermane Stiverne in January of 2015 – the only fight to go the distance in Wilder’s spectacular career thus far.  He faces fellow undefeated heavyweight Luis Ortiz, who has 28 wins and 24 knockouts against 0 defeats.

FIGHT SPORTS will broadcast this event Live as part of a doubleheader on March 3rd, airing alongside HBO’s Championship Boxing featuring Sergey Kovalev defending his WBO Light Heavyweight World Championship against Igor Mikhalkin from the Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City.

FIGHT SPORTS PLANS KNOCK-OUT BOXING SLATE FOR DECEMBER

FIGHT SPORTS is adding several boxing titles to its broadcast line up, including HBO World Championship Boxing titles; Glory Redemption; and Live Grand Finale of EFC’s reality series The Fighter.

On 9 December Fight Sports will have two championship events. Glory Redemption is an international kickboxing match featuring Rico Verhoeven vs Jamaal Ben Saddik for the heavyweight title. This will be followed by the first-ever clash of two-time Olympic gold medallists when Vasyl Lomachenko faces Guillermo Rigondeaux, who is moving up two weight divisions, for the fight at the Madison Square Garden Theatre.

The following week on 16 December, the sports network will showcase the man to last beat Manny Pacquiao, Jeff Horn, in his first defence of his WBO Welterweight World Title, live from his home country of Australia.

The day will also feature two live championship events, starting off with the live finale of The Fighter, a 10-part competition pitting undefeated fighters from all over the world in a tournament for a professional contract all while living together under one roof. The two coaches of their respective teams, Demarte Pena (11-0) and Irshaad Sayed (12-2), will compete for the Bantamweight Championship, while the final bout of the tournament will also be featured on the card, in front of the sold out Menlyn Maine Arena in South Africa.

Finally, Billy Joe Saunders will defend his WBO middleweight title against former world champion David Lemieux. The fight, set to be staged in Montreal, will be Saunders’ first professional bout overseas.

FIGHT SPORTS TO SHOW COTTO SWAN SONG IN 50 COUNTRIES

FIGHT SPORTS, the channel owned by New York-based fight sports production and distribution company CSI Sports, has acquired rights to show Miguel Cotto’s final bout tomorrow.

The six-times world champion from Puerto Rico will end his 16-year career by defending his WBO light-middleweight title against Sadam Ali at Madison Square Garden, New York.

Fight Sports will broadcast the fight live in more than 50 countries where it has carriage deals in place, including the likes of Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Spain, Belgium, Germany and sub-Saharan Africa.

Other bouts on the Fight Sports schedule for this month include: Jeff Horn’s first defence of his WBO welterweight world title live from his home country of Australia on 13 December; Billy Joe Saunders’ defence of his WBO middleweight title against former world champion David Lemieux from Montreal on 16 December; and ‘Glory Redemption’, an international kickboxing event, on 9 December.
